Meet the Nappers

Naps - You gotta love them.  Every day around 1pm, we all hit the sack.  Its our time to unwind & gear up for the second half of the day.  If you come by around 1, I won't hear the door, if you call around 1, I won't answer the phone.  Our lives stop from 1 to 3ish for naps & its wonderful.  I've always been a napper & I'm so thankful my kids are good nappers as well.  Brandon is not a napper, but he does join us from time to time.

Another way we're fighting the heat is we broke out the kiddie pool for the first time.  What a blast!  My Aunt Bonnie got Olivia this pool before she was born and we're getting good use out of it this summer.  Its so cute with the slide & the zebra is a sprinkler.  I love it & so does Livi.

Saturday was my dear ole Dad's 50th birthday.  How thankful we are to have him as our Dad/Papaw.  We hope he had a special day celebrating 50 wonderful years on this Earth.  We Love You, Dad!

This week Olivia's picked up something new.. a Paula Deen accent that true Southern Belle's would be impressed with.  I don't know how it got started or where it came from, but dow-un (down), yea-uh (yeah), come O-n (come on) has never been the same.  In some ways its cute, in others its a little annoying.  I love a good accent and I realize we do have our own Wise Count-ian way of speaking, but its extreme.  I guess we'll chalk it up to another "phase" she may grow out of.  If not, she's a perfect candidate to be Paula's heir (only if she didn't inherate her cooking genes from her mother.. YIKES.  Although I do like butter as a side-dish with the best of them).

Another Vacation Bible School under our belt.  I mean, come on, what is there not to love about VBS.  Good fun, good food, good singing/dancing, learning about Jesus.  Yep, sounds like a good time to me.  Well, even more so Olivia.  She loves it.  I can't help myself bribing her with "if you do this, we'll go to Bible School tonight" (like we weren't going anyway).  VBS at my parents' church has been a lot of fun.  The crafts were super cute, I kept thinking to myself "this would be great to make in my classroom one day".  I only hope by the time I finally get a classroom of my own, I'll remember them.  Anyway.  We are so glad we went & as exhausting the week is for Mom & Dad, its always worth it to see our little girl have a blast learning about Jesus.

Music class is a favorite - do we think she's a teacher's pet? haha! (Hint: Mamaw is the teacher)

No one can realize how thankful Livi & myself are for Lauren in our lives (my legs are thankful, too, since Lauren & Tyler always chase her for me.)

Lookin' all cute for VBS

Its VBS Commencement tonight followed by a little pizza party.  Tomorrow is an off Saturday for Brandon & we're staying home (gasp!).  We need a work weekend at home for once (yuck!).  Maybe Dad can work & mom & Livi will hang by the pool.  Yeah, that sounds better.

Its 1:30.. past naptime.  Peace out! :)

Rolling, Tricycles & Dogs!

We had quite a week last week.. but that's the way we like it.

Tuesday we were blessed with a playdate with Raelyn, Harlie & Annie (and a mommy date for myself & Rachel). :)  Livi loves these girls so much & they're so good with playing with her.  I hope they had just as much fun as Livi did.  Raelyn is great with kids, she loved holding Jameson.  I guess after 2 sisters, she's a pro at it tho. :)  Catching up with Rae is always nice.  Its amazing how talking to someone above the age of 2 is so relaxing, no matter how many children are running around us.

Later that day we had to take all 3 dogs to the vet.  3 dogs + 2 children = CRAZY!!  But its just easier to take them all at once than to have to take one at a time (since the vet is a good 30 mins away).  Luckily Brandon was able to go with me so he stayed outside with the babies & dogs as I took them in one at a time.  $400 & 2 hours later, we were on our way home.

Tuesday night, we had a few minutes before bedtime.  Brandon wasn't home so I did what I normally do to waste time, take the kiddos to my parents.  Well my Mom & Dad were almost ready to leave to go to Wal-Mart, so we didn't even make it in.  As I was talking to my Mom, Olivia climbs in their Pilot into her seat & says she's going to Wal-Mart.  What a nut!!  But being the spoiled child she is, she gets her way & she's off to Wal-Mart.  An hour & half later, she returns with a Happy Meal, Bananas, Teddy Grahams, and a tricycle.  She was so excited, she wanted to ride that thing all night long.  I didn't think I would ever get her into bed that night.  I love seeing her little face when she returns from spending time with my parents.  She gets all excited & wants to tell you all about it.  She just loves Mamaw & Papaw so much.

Wednesday we headed to Jameson's specialist in Kingsport.  He had gained weight (10.8 on their scale), but since every scale is different, we won't know for sure exactly how much he gained until we go back to Dr. Begley.  His BMI went up, which is good, but we still have a long way to go.  We discussed some issues & then we were on our way.  This reflux has really kicked our butt.  We literally work for every ounce we gain & we smell of regurgitated milk everywhere we go, but I know in the end, it will be alright.

Wednesday after a nap, Jameson rolled over in my bed.  I thought it was just a one time incident until that night when he rolled over & over & over in his crib (making his monitors go off a time or two).  He really is growing up.  I want him to stay my little boy for just a little longer, but I guess he has other plans.

Whew, what a face. :)

Friday we took Olivia to the track to work on riding her tricycle.  She did pretty good, she's just a little lazy. haha!  She has a hard time pedaling on her own.  Brandon came up with his own solution so he didn't have to bend over to push her the whole time, he put a dog leash around it & pulled her. haha!  He's pretty creative.  In the end, Olivia wanted to pull it around.  We looked pretty silly.

I love how she's looking up at him

Walking her tricycle

She ran away from us because she didn't wan to leave, then she came running back to us when some strange dog started barking

Post on this weekend soon to follow. :)
